Taxonomical description of the sclerite structures in the haptor of the <i>Paradiplozoon<i/> sp. on Labeo umbratus in the Vaal Dam

Abstract

The sclerite structures of the diplozoids from the gills ofL. umbratusin the Vaal Dam were studied. This was done with Glycerine Ammonium Picrate(GAP), H�rens se Trichrome and Scanning electron microscopy. After comparing the resultswith known species, it was confirmed that this is an undescribed species ofParadiplozoon.
